A local stand-up paddle boarder from Seascale has taken on a big challenge to raise money in support of diabetes research.
Adrian Angell, emigrated to the USA from Seascale but still supports West Cumbrian Charities. The Marra paddled 50 miles along the Ohio river last weekend for his UK fundraiser. He tells us back back here that –
“My motivation for this paddle is definitely to raise money for Diabetes UK and get exposure for that charity back in Cumbria.”
Adrian will fly back to the West Cumbria this month to further his fundraiser, so he can paddle-board each of the major lakes in the Lake District, clocking 100 miles along the way.
He has raised money for Diabetes UK in the past, by paddle-boarding the English Channel in 2018 and the 57 miles from Fort William to Inverness in 2019. A true local athlete with an even bigger heart.
