We can fix it

Ferry’s across Windermere has returned to normal COVID 19 operating
capacity a short while ago.
Across this week drivers, cyclists and foot passengers were left having
to find alternative routes across the lake, leading to heavier than
normal traffic on the A591.
What the Windermere ferry called today as technical difficulties to its
Mallard craft were now resolved.
Following the easing of lock-down restrictions, Cumbria County Council
believed the Windermere Ferry should operate ‘safely’ within the
Government guidelines on safe working.
The Ferry has now abandoned its self-service kiosks at either shore and
moved to electronic payment onboard with card payments only. Foot
Passengers are now kept separate from drivers who now occupy just two
lanes on board. Windermere Ferry said today that – “We are operating,
but at reduced capacity.”
